owners
We’re a family owned and operated business designing, fabricating, and installing scenery, props, displays, trade show booths, signage, staging, and displays. We’re based in Toronto, Ontario, and work with clients all around the “Golden Horseshoe” from St. Catherines to Oshawa, Ontario.
We’ve had the privilege of working with many high-profile companies and events over the years. Our clients tend to hear of us by word-of-mouth, and they keep coming back year after year.
What keeps our clients coming back is our collaborative approach we take with our clients and partners. This can be a stressful business with tight deadlines and high expectations. Our talented and hard-working craftspeople, artists and project managers work closely with our clients to make their events and productions a success.
A bit about Rob LaFrance
Rob has always had a passion for the creative. He followed that path to a job in the display department of a Hazelton Lanes Shopping Centre in Yorkville early in his career, from there he went on to become a scenic artist at CBC.
He started LaFrance Design over 25 years ago, and since then he has been creating and constructing for the film/TV commercial industry, special events, and displays for shopping centres and other large venues.
He is driven in achieving the best possible outcome for the client, and can often be seen in our full-service workshop working alongside the crew carving out props, scenic painting, welding or operating the CNC machine!
Terry LaFrance
Terry joined LaFrance Design in 2015, making it a family business. Terry’s in charge of client relations and sales. She’s usually the first point of contact finding out what customers need and coordinating the team.
Terry spent 30 years in the fashion business, running a division of a large Canadian importer. She worked with all the major retail chains in Canada.
She works closely with the team throughout each project and is committed to making sure our clients’ experience is a positive one, and they’re happy with the outcome of each of their projects.
