Staging is usually the focal point of your event…all eyes are on it. Your stage must look great – LaFrance Design is a staging company in Toronto designing and building stages for events, conferences, music, fashion shows, and more.
We can build custom staging tailored to your event requirements – for short-term rentals or purchase. We’ve built stages as small as 8’ x 10’ for special events in shopping centres and stage surfacing and stairs for a large awards show, and everything in between.
We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor stage options. Our staging comes in 4’ x 4’ sections with heights of 6, 12, 18 or 24 inches. We offer both stage steps and ramps as well as stage skirting.
Our staging experts can provide full service including design, fabrication, shipping, installation, and removal. Or, if you have your own designer, we’re more than happy to work with them to bring their stage design to life.
Large corporate & branding event staging
If you or your event planner can dream it, chances are we can build it for you. If you don’t have an event planner, our experts will be able to design, fabricate and install your staging.
We can also build specialized staging with ramps or stairs, such as we have done for an outdoor charity event that involved an obstacle course with various stations using a variety of custom staging pieces.
Interactive, experiential activities can be executed using a range of various staging elements to create a multi-level platform that participants can use for Instagram-worthy pics!
Small event stages & risers
Not every event needs a large stage. You might need one or several small stages or risers. For smaller events we use roto-lock or mechanical locking, quick-connect integrated stage pieces for time-sensitive installs.
Our small stage builds are often complemented with custom build backdrops incorporating brand logos, LED lighting, and props to give them maximum impact.

Small stages and risers provide flexibility that are ideal for use in shopping centres for small fashion shows or demonstrations where the stage must be removed immediately after use. They also work well for community-based events.

Don’t forget your stage’s surface – all eyes are on it! For large-scale special productions, we can do a high gloss sheeting surface stage deck with floor decals and graphics in your brand’s colours. We also do custom light boxes and circular stairs.
Award shows & broadcast productions
Our team has been involved with creating dazzling stages for broadcast productions both large and small.
For the Hum Awards (shown here) we partnered with our client to surface the stage, as well as build the stairs, podium, and LED light boxes.
Our fabrication team work closely with a show’s set designer to bring their vision to life, while ensuring we adhere to quick moving production schedules.
We custom build the stage, stairs, walls, Hollywood flats, backdrops, scenery and props, as well as creative floor covering for broadcast productions for award shows, TV specials, and more.
Fashion show runway stage
There are several things to consider when planning for your fashion show runway. Not to worry, LaFrance Design has designed, constructed, and installed many fashion show stages over the years.
Our most popular fashion show runway stage design is the classic T-shaped runway but, we’ve designed and built many different shapes – whatever suits your brand and sells your theme.
We can finish stage surfaces in everything from carpet to graphics.
Stage backdrops are an important consideration for your stage - they help to set the mood. We can make everything from scenic painted theatre flats to a blank canvas.
Rentals
We also provide the rental items necessary to build your stage. We can provide everything from risers to sandbags.
