Our workshop
LaFrance Design has a full-service workshop facility located in east Toronto. We have over 8000 square feet of production and staging space. Our dynamic team of talented craftsmen have been honing their skills for decades. We have fully equipped shops for woodworking, metal fabrication, sewing, painting as well as a CNC machine and vinyl printer, and laminator.
Our team has designed, built and/or provided installation for a lot of exciting projects with our partners and clients including: TIFF, Sephora Vendor Fair, Adidas Tango League Soccer events, NHL Entry Draft 2017, Hum Awards, Grease Musical at Winter Garden Theatre, Terry Fox Charity Golf Tournament to name just a few.
Design Studio
If you don’t have access to your own designer, we can fill that gap for you with one of our talented creative people.
We collaborate with you to make sure that we come up with what your vision is. We can also create 3-D renderings so you can get a feel for the finished product from all angles, before we go into production. We aim to perfect the process so you will be happy from start to finish.
Woodshop
We can fabricate anything in our woodshop to your exact specifications, be it trade show booths, cabinetry, furniture, tv commercial sets, props, or large-scale structures, and integrate with our metal and plastics production to create the perfect bespoke piece that you require.
Some of our equipment includes sliding table and cabinet saws, radial arm saws, routers, and drill presses.
Metal shop
Our experienced metal workers and welders can create a variety of projects in our expansive metal fabrication shop with our TIG and MIG welders, band saw, chop saw, and plasma cutter.
Our metal experts have created everything from metal LED signs to a full soccer pitch fence, as well as custom retail displays. Whatever you need, we can take on your unique projects with confidence.
Paint shop
With over 30 years of experience, our creative team can create standard and custom finishes to your exact specifications. Our large paint shop can turn out set painting, faux finishes, and anything required to be sprayed with special finishes in our spray booth.
We can often offer same-day turn-around time if needed on some projects.
CNC shop
Our CNC router creates a wide range of intricately cut designs on wood, MDF, aluminum laminate, PVC, acrylic, and high-density foam.
Quick turn-around times can be achieved on signs, cabinets, props, furniture and displays due to our in-house CNC capabilities.
Our CNC machine enables us to fabricate any type of cupboard door profile without having to wait for lengthy delivery times from manufacturers, making it a popular solution for TV commercial sets.
The CNC machine also gives us the capability to cover existing cabinetry in a home or commercial location by fabricating counters and backsplashes to overlay over existing fixtures.
We can also create fun Christmas graphics, as shown, to decorate walls, windows and much more.
Vinyl printer & laminator
If your event requires signage, graphics and large sized images we can produce them for you on our wide-format vinyl printer and laminator.
Besides doing signage, we can use printed vinyl along with CNC cut forms to create specific cupboard door finishes or, tiles for backsplashes, bathrooms etc. for sets where the tile design or door you need has a long lead time or high cost, or if the set is in a home and the finish must be overlaid on the original.
We can also do banners or large-scale graphics to enhance your event or production.
